i’m george, the heart behind chånn, your private thai chef experience right at home. what started as a childhood memory in my grandma’s kitchen has become my life’s calling.
why “chånn”?
in thai, it means “spoon”, simple, humble, and essential. it’s the tool we eat with, share with, and grow up holding every single day. naming it chånn is my way of honouring that simplicity and the essence of thai life itself.
i was born in bangkok but raised in nakhon pathom, a small town just outside the city. my childhood smelled of garlic, chili, and jasmine rice. while other kids did their homework, i stood by my grandma’s side, chopping vegetables, pounding curry paste, tasting her magical sauces, and learning about life through food. she was my greatest teacher. from her, i learned that food is not just to fill the stomach but to fill the heart, to express love, patience, and hope.
cooking has never left me. even after years of working as a graphic designer and art director creating visual stories for brands, i found myself always coming back to the kitchen where creativity feels most alive. now, i bring both worlds together: flavour and design, memory and art, into one immersive dining experience.
